🔠 «No offense» isn't a magic shield A lot of learners treat no offense as if it automatically makes a sentence polite, but in fact it doesn't. Compare: → Your report needs some work. → No offense (=без обид), but your report needs some work. The second version sounds softer, for sure, but the actual message hasn't changed. If the comment is rude or unnecessarily harsh, «no offense» won't fix that, be careful. ❗️ That's why native speakers sometimes react negatively to the phrase.
