Round Table “Family Values” at NSMU: Support, Knowledge, and Open Dialogue
Round Table “Family Values” at NSMU: Support, Knowledge, and Open Dialogue On October 15, the Northern State Medical University hosted the round table “Family Values,” which served as an important platform for discussing family support, emotional well‑being, and available social measures. The event brought together university staff, students, and everyone who cares about family issues and looking after loved ones. 🔹 Natalia Vasilyevna Kraeva, Vice‑Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Activities, opened the meeting with a welcoming speech. She emphasized that supporting student families and creating a comfortable environment for students with children is one of the university’s key priorities. 🔹 Regional experts presented the current landscape of social support in the Arkhangelsk Region. I. V. Zabrodovskaya (Arkhangelsk Regional Center for Social Protection of the Population) spoke about existing assistance measures for families with children, while A. N. Dodonova (Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Development of the Arkhangelsk Region) highlighted opportunities for young families — including the specifics of Arctic and family mortgages. These topics sparked particular interest: many participants learned for the first time about the full range of available programmes. 🔹 University staff, in turn, went into detail about internal support mechanisms. A. V. Kysina (Socio‑Psychological Service) explained how to apply for financial assistance for child‑rearing and how to get a New Year’s gift, as well as what options are specifically available to student families. Special attention was also given to the psychological dimension: psychologist O. I. Erofeeva shared practical techniques for maintaining emotional balance in spousal and parent‑child relationships — including during stressful situations. ✅ The round table demonstrated that when the university, regional services, and students speak the same language, support stops being a mere formality and becomes real, tangible help. Such meetings not only provide essential information but also give people the feeling that they are not alone — and that help really is within reach. ❤ We thank all the speakers for their openness and professionalism, and the participants for their genuine interest and honest questions. May the knowledge gained at the round table become a reliable support in everyday life!
