The percentage of young people (17-26) living alone reached about 5%, while the 27-36 and 37-46 age groups increased to approximately 8% and 7% respectively. Most noticeably, the two oldest cohorts saw the biggest increases: the 47-54 group reached 13%, whereas the figure for people aged 55-64 peaked at over 16% in 2000.
