The 65th All-Union Scientific Student Conference, “Topical Issues of Surgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care for Children,” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of V. P. Nemsadze, was held at Omsk State Medical University from 23 to 25 April 2026. The conference brought together student and resident participants from 3 countries and 33 cities, fostering academic exchange and collaboration in the field of pediatric surgery and related disciplines. Representing the International Faculty of General Practitioners, Thangaraj Starlet Astra, a 6th-year student, was the only participant from India. She presented a poster titled “Epidemiology and Age-Related Aspects of Complicated Meckel’s Diverticulum: Analysis of Clinical Experience and Characteristics of Intestinal Bleeding,” for which she was awarded First Prize. The university was also awarded the overall First Prize at the conference, reflecting the high level of academic preparation and research excellence demonstrated by its students. Congratulations to Astra on her well-deserved victory! We wish her to never stop at what has been achieved, to continue her scientific pursuit, and to reach new heights in her chosen field. We have always known that our students are the most talented, and such successes are a vivid testament to that. Behind every victory are sleepless nights, immense hard work, and a sincere love for science. Astra has proven that there are no barriers to true talent and diligence.
