The Poet s Chain
The Poet s Chain I Hate This Inspiration (The Poet's Chain) © Musical group _Broken guitars https://max.ru/para_kemmeren/AZ2Y1xF_OX4 Verse 1 I truly hate this inspiration’s light! When I am crushed and long for sleep so deep, This revelation comes into the night, My other self, defying with its might, And till the dawn, in self-oblivion's sight, Like jackal to the carrion I leap! Verse 2 I truly hate this inspiration’s call! A billion fates are living now in me. Good and the evil penetrate my wall, It is my fate’s routine, its rise and fall. Like washing in eternity for all, It finds me wherever I might be! Verse 3 I truly hate this inspiration’s flare! Its unpredictable and sudden blow! It’s faster than the wind within the air, An angel’s wing that touches me with care, A demon’s daring that I have to bear, Opening Pandora’s box of long ago. Verse 4 I truly hate this inspiration’s ways! And all its traps and snares that it provides! While others offer reverence and praise, To me it’s just a stone that stops my days, Invading healthy sleep with bitter haze... With it, the hours are thorns against my sides! Verse 5 (Finale) I truly hate this inspiration’s breath! And for its sake alone I bear the pain: When comes the day of vanishing and death, And blessing of my end, as scripture saith, When heart and mind are cold beneath the hearth, I’ll use this gift to break the deadly chain!
