Moscow reborn
MOSCOW REBORN (THE SNAIL’S RETREAT) https://max.ru/para_kemmeren/AZ2dTUC4MbA The glass is fogged. The faces start to fade. My dear old capital, how have you played? I see the Ring Road waking in a drowse. Where are the Georgians, spices, and their pride? Where are the "airfield caps" and lively house? Now only migrants swarm on every side. Even the Romani have tucked away and died... Where is the reason for this grand destruction? Of everything our fathers used to build? The glass-box towers — a hive-like construction, To house the leeches, greedily fulfilled. The romance of the paper page has vanished. Eyes glued to iPhones, seventeenth in line. Information’s junk, the meaning’s banished, Just killing minutes, wasting all your time. My soul is like a snail, a lonely creature: It shrank behind the shell of what has been. Why change the paving tiles? It’s just a feature For a Bugatti’s tires to crush and clean. The streets are washed with soap, the beards are long. The boulevards are scrubbed to golden shine. Which Temple should I choose to right the wrong? Without the thinkers, everything’s flat line. I’m a hostage of the ions, walking slow, A target for a scooter’s frantic pace. Recalling Bonaparte and Moscow’s glow — When “Fire helped to decorate the place…”
