Natalia Vasilyevna Kraeva, Vice‑Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Activities at the Northern State Medical University (NSMU), took part in the educational programme “School of Trust Management” at the Knowledge Centre “Mashuk” (Pyatigorsk) — a key federal platform for developing educational and managerial talent in Russia. Organised by the “Concerned Person” platform jointly with the Knowledge Centre “Mashuk” and the Analytical Centre of VCIOM, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the programme brought together vice‑rectors for youth policy and educational activities from 36 Russian universities and experts in sociology. Objectives of the programme: to develop skills in managing trust‑based relationships in the academic environment, demonstrate the role of sociology in university development, introduce cutting‑edge practices in educational work, and strengthen collaboration between universities, the expert community, and government agencies. Tasks: to master tools of sociological analysis for solving managerial tasks, study mechanisms for creating a trust‑based environment in student groups, review case studies on engaging youth in public life, and develop project ideas to strengthen trust between students, faculty, and university administration. Natalia Vasilyevna highlighted the high practical value of the programme: “The programme was truly intensive: it combined both educational modules and practical sessions. Speakers and federal‑level experts helped us gain a deeper understanding of how sociological research influences the strategic development of universities and state education policy. Equally valuable was learning about the goals and objectives of Project 706/3 and the opportunities offered by the “Concerned Person” platform. The knowledge gained and new professional connections will help all participants organise educational work at universities more effectively: to implement modern approaches to interacting with students and launch initiatives that strengthen trust and youth engagement.”
