☀️ Summer greetings from Andrey Vladimirovich Povilaitis, PhD in Philosophy, Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities, NSMU: 🗣️ “My vacation started on June 15. Traditionally, it follows the ‘North–South–North’ route. At the beginning of my vacation, I always need a change of scenery — to go somewhere (usually to a warm sea) so that I can then continue my creative work in the North. And what is the main natural treasure of the Russian North? The sea and the forest. My vacation is directly connected with these two elements. 🔹 This year, my two‑week June getaway in the south was in sunny Abkhazia, in Pitsunda, at the Sosnovaya Roscha guesthouse. It’s very quiet and peaceful there. My idea of relaxation is a balcony overlooking the sea, daily swims, long walks, healthy food, books, karaoke, small excursions, and enjoying the silence. 🔹 My July and August break back home is mostly about hiking in the forest and, again, good books. This year, the mushroom and berry season started 2–3 weeks earlier than usual, and I’m making the most of it. What does a trip to the forest mean to me on days like these? It’s about getting some fresh air and exercise — walking about 10 km, picking a moderate amount of mushrooms and berries, writing a new poem, and so on. I believe that each of us should know how to rest properly. Good rest is the key to good work later on. Most importantly, we should try to make our downtime beneficial for ourselves and, if possible, for others. For example, I like to treat one of my acquaintances to a glass of freshly picked berries after a day in the woods. It’s a small thing, but it makes people happy.” ☀️ How is your summer going?
