Professor Galina Nikolaevna Degteva presented the results of testing a modern school desk at a major all‑Russian conference in Moscow. On 6–7 October 2026, Moscow hosted significant events in the field of school and university medicine and hygiene: the All‑Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “From the Erisman Desk to the Hygienic Safety of the Digital Transformation of Education — Towards the Centenary of the Department of Hygiene of Children and Adolescents at Sechenov University” and the 10th National Congress with International Participation on School and University Medicine “School and University Medicine in the Development of Healthcare in the Russian Federation until 2030”. 🔹The events brought together leading specialists, researchers, and practitioners interested in protecting the health of students and improving hygienic standards in the educational environment. 🔹Galina Nikolaevna Degteva, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Ecology of the Northern State Medical University, member of the Scientific Council on Hygiene and Health Protection of Children and Adolescents of the RAS Division of Medical Sciences, and member of the Presidium of the Russian Society for School and University Medicine and Health (ROSHUMZ), took part in the congress with an oral presentation entitled “A Single‑Seat Desk with Armrests Based on the Erisman Desk: Relevance and Testing Results”. “I am very pleased that the presentation aroused great interest and generated many questions. During the breaks after the talk, many people wanted to discuss the issues raised at the congress concerning hygiene for children and adolescents, and, in particular, the topic of my presentation. I also congratulated the Department of Hygiene of Children and Adolescents at Sechenov University on its 100th anniversary, presenting a congratulatory address and gifts from the Northern State Medical University,” - said Galina Nikolaevna Degteva.
