First‑year students of the Northern State Medical University (NSMU) tested their strength at the physical fitness and wellness event “I’m Healthy, I’m Ready.” The main goal was to show how sport and a healthy lifestyle can fit into the rhythm of student life, to preserve the university’s sporting traditions, and to help first‑year students see the GTO complex not as a mere formality, but as a real tool to test their capabilities and build endurance. 🔹44 first‑year students took part in the sports competitions — students from the Faculty of General Medicine, the Faculty of Pediatrics, and the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as students enrolled in secondary vocational education programmes. 🔹The event was organised by the Department of Sports Medicine, Therapeutic Physical Training, and Adaptive Physical Training. The competition results were summarised both in the individual and team standings. ✅ Several participants stood out in the individual disciplines. 🔹Daniil Bolotov from the Faculty of General Medicine confidently took the lead in several categories: 25 pull‑ups on the high bar, 66 push‑ups, 56 sit‑ups, and a long jump of 305 cm — a set of results that are hard to overlook. 🔹Among the female participants, Evelina Vakhnina from the Faculty of Dentistry performed excellently: 32 push‑ups from a bench position and a jump of 205 cm. 🔹Another standout participant, also from the Faculty of Dentistry, was Lidia Shkolnikova, who achieved the best result among women in the abdominal exercise — 48 repetitions. 🔹The programme also included a flexibility test: among women, the best result was 22 cm, achieved by Tatyana Mamontova (Faculty of Dentistry); among men, the best was 21.5 cm, by Maksim Mindzibrodsky (General Medicine, Secondary Vocational Education). 🔹Speed and agility were tested in the 3×10 m shuttle run: the fastest to complete the distance were Nikolay Zotov (Faculty of General Medicine, 6.7 seconds) and Ksenia Klyusheva (General Medicine, Secondary Vocational Education, 7.37 seconds). 🔹In the 30‑second jump rope challenge, Sofia Sokolova (Faculty of Pediatrics, 111 jumps) and Shodruz Negmatov (General Medicine, Secondary Vocational Education, 95 jumps) stood out. ✅ Team standings were also summarised. The Nursing Faculty team scored the highest number of points. The Faculty of Pediatrics came in second, the Faculty of Dentistry took third place, and the General Medicine Faculty team finished fourth. The event gave the participants their first victories and also reminded everyone that sport and an active lifestyle are a cornerstone for people of any profession: they strengthen health, help cope with stress, and foster discipline and self‑confidence.
