Report and Election Meeting of the NSMU Veterans’ Organization: Continuity, Gratitude, and New Plans On October 14, 2026, the report and election meeting of the Veterans’ Organization of the Northern State Medical University took place. The event brought together those whose years of service have become part of the university’s history — veterans who have devoted many years to serving medicine and education. The focal point of the meeting was the report delivered by the Chair of the Veterans’ Council, Evgenia Georgievna Shchukina, Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology. The report did not merely summarize the work carried out over the past period; it painted a vivid portrait of the veterans’ community, highlighting its diverse activities, proactive approach, and the genuine engagement of each member. According to Evgenia Georgievna, such events are especially valuable for the opportunity they provide to meet in person: “I was pleased to see a high turnout: for many, this meeting was a rare and cherished opportunity to chat, share memories, and feel like part of a united team.” The gathering was imbued with a special warmth thanks to the participation of long‑standing figures in the veterans’ movement: 🔹 Anastasia Grigorievna Serdechnaya, a long‑time head of the veterans’ organization, whose work at the Department of Faculty Therapy left a notable mark on the university’s history, once again reminded everyone of the power of personal example. 🔹 Nina Nikolaevna Nutrikhina, Associate Professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy, not only made a significant contribution to teaching activities but also donated her works and methodological materials to the university. 🔹 Tamara Nikolaevna Verkhovtseva, who worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of Physics, remains an active member of the Council today: her energy and dedication are the best proof that the connection with the university does not end with retirement. An important part of the event was the participation of Ivan Alexandrovich Vorontsov, Chair of the Arkhangelsk City Duma. He emphasized that the work of the Veterans’ Council is carried out on a voluntary basis — out of a sense of calling, not obligation. As a token of appreciation, he presented a Letter of Gratitude from the City Duma and gifted a publication on the four‑century history of Arkhangelsk’s local self‑government — a book that embodies respect for traditions and the continuity of generations. ❗ The main outcome of the meeting was the unanimous decision to re‑elect the Veterans’ Council and its Chair: Evgenia Georgievna Shchukina will continue to lead the Council for the next three years. 👏 We congratulate the entire Veterans’ Council of NSMU and wish the team new achievements, the successful implementation of all planned projects, and, most importantly, the same sincere support and warmth for which this community is known!
