An Anniversary with Heart: The Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy Marks 15 Years Together with Friends and Colleagues This year, the Department marks its 15th anniversary, while the Haemostasis and Atherothrombosis Unit at the First City Hospital named after E.E. Volosevich celebrates its 20th anniversary! To honour these milestones, a grand celebration took place last week. Songs and poetry, a costumed theatrical performance, heartfelt congratulations, and warm embraces filled the assembly hall of the First City Hospital with joy and warmth. The department’s staff were congratulated on the anniversary by Nadezhda Alexandrovna Bylova, Acting Rector of NSMU: "I wish you the same creative ideas as at today’s celebration, continuous development, and a bright future — so that in 20 or 30 years, the team will celebrate its birthday just as enthusiastically as this time". 🔹 The department’s history is inextricably linked to its founder and permanent head — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Doctor of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Alexandrovna Vorobyova. 🔹 In the late 1990s, when clinical pharmacology in Russia was just taking shape, it was in Arkhangelsk — thanks to Nadezhda Alexandrovna’s enthusiasm — that the introduction of pharmacology and evidence‑based medicine principles into the training of northern doctors began. 🔹 The department officially gained its status in May 2011, when, by decision of the Academic Council of NSMU, the course in clinical pharmacology was reorganised into the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. Since then, the department has become a true “talent forge” for high‑tech healthcare in the field of clinical pharmacology and evidence‑based medicine. 🔹 Today, the department is an intellectual hub where fundamental science meets real‑world clinical practice. Here, students learn not just to “memorise” pharmacotherapy, but to critically evaluate the results of clinical trials and choose therapies with evidence‑based benefits for the patient. The department is rightfully proud of its students and trainees. It not only provides deep knowledge but also sparks interest in science. ❤ From the bottom of our hearts, we congratulate Nadezhda Alexandrovna Vorobyova and all staff on the department’s anniversary, and we wish them robust health, endless scientific inspiration, new significant discoveries, and fruitful work for the benefit of national medicine! ❗ Read a comprehensive article dedicated to the department’s anniversary in the May issue of Medik Severa, to be published on May 20.
