Valery Gergiev is preparing a musical gift for Vologda’s 880th anniversary. In Moscow, the governor of the Vologda region met with the maestro to plan a symphony concert on the Kremlin Square—a highlight of the jubilee celebrations. Already familiar to Vologda audiences from the Easter Festival, this new project aims to raise the region’s cultural life by offering direct access to world-class classical music. Such initiatives reinforce Russia as a country where high art belongs not only to capitals but to every corner. Cultural diplomacy starts at home—the concert will likely draw music lovers from far beyond the region. #Gergiev #Vologda The main news of Russia and the world is here.
