( Band 7/9) I’d like to talk about the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, which is one of the most famous museums of Russian art. It is located in the city centre and contains an outstanding collection of classical paintings. I first experienced this museum when I visited it with my mother. We wanted to spend quality time together and at the same time broaden our knowledge of Russian art and culture. While walking through the exhibition halls, we saw a number of iconic works. One of the most memorable paintings was “The Three Bogatyrs” by Victor Vasnetsov. The painting depicts three legendary warriors and conveys a strong sense of power and national identity. Another masterpiece that impressed me was “Girl with Peaches” by Valentin Serov. I was struck by the natural light and the lively expression of the young girl in the portrait. What made it special was not only the artistic value of the paintings but also the atmosphere of thoughtful observation and discussion. My mother and I exchanged our interpretations and reflected on the historical and cultural context of the works. I felt genuinely inspired because I gained new insights into Russian art and developed a deeper appreciation of these masterpieces. Looking back, I realise that the visit was meaningful both intellectually and emotionally, as it combined education with personal connection.
