You are going to give a talk about daily routines. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10–12 sentences). Remember to say: • what your favourite part of the day is; • how you spend your evenings; • what teenagers usually do at the weekend; • what your attitude to doing homework is. You have to talk continuously Now I'm going to give a talk about television and its role in our lives. To start with, it goes without saying that TV remains a popular form of entertainment, and there are several reasons why many people like watching it. Firstly, it offers a wide variety of content, from news and documentaries to films and shows, so everyone can find something interesting. Secondly, watching TV is a passive activity that helps people relax and escape from their daily stress after work or school. As for the TV programme I really like, personally, I'm a big fan of nature documentaries. I find them both fascinating and educational because they show incredible animals and beautiful places I would never see otherwise. They also make me think about how important it is to protect our planet. As a matter of fact, I believe that most Russian teenagers prefer surfing the Internet to watching traditional TV. This is because the Internet offers more freedom and interactivity — you can choose what to watch, when to watch it, and even communicate with others while doing so. Moreover, social media and streaming platforms are more tailored to young people's interests than regular TV schedules. I'd like to add that my attitude to watching TV is quite positive, but I think it's important to have a balance. I enjoy watching good programmes, especially documentaries and quality films, but I don't spend too much time in front of the screen. In my opinion, it's better to use TV as a way to learn something new or relax occasionally, rather than to binge-watch for hours. That's all I wanted to say about television and my attitude towards it.
