❤ Everyone can make a difference! In the context of extracurricular activities at NSMU, these aren’t just pretty words. Students at our university are actively involved in volunteering. One of the student associations dedicated to this cause is the All‑Russian public movement MedVolunteers (Volunteer Medics). This is one of the largest and most well‑known volunteer organisations in Russia. The movement has regional headquarters in every region, and the MedVolunteers headquarters for the Arkhangelsk Region is based right here at our university! Let’s get to know them a little better. The volunteers don’t just run one‑off campaigns — they’ve built a whole system of initiatives. Here are some of them: 🔹 First aid and event support — volunteers provide on‑site coverage at events of various formats, ensuring safety for all participants, and also run first aid masterclasses for different population groups. 🔹 Promoting blood and bone marrow donation — NSMU volunteers were among the first in the Arkhangelsk Region to respond to the call to build the federal registry of bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cell donors. 🔹 Medical career guidance for school students — students travel to various parts of the country to give informative talks about how to become a doctor! 🔹 Health and disease prevention outreach — our volunteers hold talks about healthy lifestyles, addiction prevention, and infection control for all age groups, from kindergarten children to the elderly. Of course, this is just a small part of all the areas where the MedVolunteers are active. You’ll have the chance to explore the rest during your studies. How to join the MedVolunteers team? NSMU hosts the MedVolunteer School twice a year, where participants receive the training needed to become a volunteer. Want to join?
