Prospects for Cooperation in Developing the Biomedical Industry in the Arctic Zone On October 1, a meeting between the leadership and staff of Northern State Medical University (NSMU) and representatives of Parsec Engineering LLC took place at NSMU. The meeting focused on implementing a strategic project to develop the biomedical industry and produce biopolymers for the needs of the Arctic Zone. 🔹 The goal of the meeting was to establish working contacts, present existing experience, and discuss opportunities for jointly building a technological chain for producing chitosan and biopolymer derivatives based on Arctic bioresources, as well as their application in addressing current challenges in mobilization and emergency medicine. The event was chaired by NSMU Rector Nadezhda Alexandrovna Bylova. Also in attendance were: 🔹 Alexander Valeryevich Kudryavtsev, Head of the Research and Innovation Office. 🔹 Sergey Leonidovich Kashutin, Head of the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases. 🔹 Anton Evgenyevich Sukhanov, Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy. 🔹 Nikita Alexeyevich Shutsky, Associate Professor at the Department of Histology, Cytology, and Embryology. 🔹 Elena Anatolyevna Yegorova, Director of the NSMU Small Innovative Enterprise. The Arkhangelsk Region Development Agency was represented at the meeting by Yulia Vladimirovna Shabalina. From Parsec Engineering LLC, the discussion involved Yekaterina Anatolyevna Litvinova, head of the strategic technology project “New Engineering Solutions and Artificial Intelligence in the Biomedical Industry” at NSTU NETI, and Olga Anatolyevna Dorokhova, managing partner of the Chitosan project. Participants discussed ways to accelerate technology transfer between developers, the university, and practical healthcare; opportunities for integrating scientific and production expertise; and the inclusion of joint initiatives in regional and federal science and technology development programs. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to prepare a cooperation agreement between NSMU and Parsec Engineering LLC within the framework of the strategic project to develop the biomedical industry and produce biopolymers.
