The Vice‑Rector for Research and Innovation at Northern State Medical University (NSMU), S. I. Malyavskaya, represented NSMU at the 3rd International Forum “BIOPROM: Industry and Technologies for Human Well‑being”. Svetlana Ivanovna Malyavskaya, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, took part in the session “The Pharmaceutical Industry in the Architecture of Longevity: Rethinking the Role of the Industry in Shaping the Nation’s Metabolic Health” within the “BIOTECHMED” thematic track. Svetlana Ivanovna highlighted the relevance and importance of the session’s topic, noting that metabolic health is one of the key factors for healthy longevity, economic stability, and the country’s demographic potential: “Hidden metabolic risks shorten the period of active life and place an additional burden on the economy, which calls for joint efforts by the state, the healthcare system, and the pharmaceutical industry. The issue raised aligns with my own research interests: technologies for identifying and preventing metabolic and genetic risks that accelerate biological ageing.” The forum served as a platform for sharing experience on implementing the best regional paediatric practices and discussing issues related to the organisation of medical care for children. One of the main goals of the forum is to accelerate the implementation of new ideas and developments, support scientists in turning their research into viable projects, and expand the use of modern innovations in practice. All of this fully aligns with the development plans of Northern State Medical University.
