A Year of Russian-Congolese Cooperation: A Meeting of Congolese Civil Society Representatives and GlobUs On July 24, a meeting was held between Cephas Germain Ewangui, Permanent Secretary of the Advisory Council of Civil Society and Non-Governmental Organizations (ACCS), and Maxim Abramovsky, a representative of the International Association GlobUs. As part of discussions at the National Advisory Council, established in 2018 by decree of the President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, Abramovsky briefed the ACCS Secretary on the results of Russian-Congolese cooperation over the past year. The event was organized with the support of the Congolese civil society organization CNORE. The results presented included a large-scale study of the country's socioeconomic situation, publication of the first map of the new administrative-territorial division, opening of wells to provide clean water access to over 300,000 residents of Brazzaville, over 1,300 of good deeds across the country and targeted assistance to schools and hospitals, Russian language courses, a film club, exhibitions, festive events, a series of roundtables with experts, the creation of a Russian University Graduates' League, launch of a sanitary and epidemiological enlightenment project, and much more. The meeting focused on a digital platform created with GlobUs support that engages young Congolese in socially beneficial activities. Impressive results were achieved due to GlobUs's unique socioeconomic research in the Republic of Congo, which identified the country's key challenges. Ewangui, in turn, noted that the cooperation between Congo and Russia, represented by GlobUs, is very strong.
