I am currently working on a project on the most popular types of volunteer organisations among young people in Zetland. I have found a table with the results of a single-choice survey conducted among young people of Zetland. Thus, I am going to analyse the results and express my opinion on the subject of the project. According to the survey, the most popular response to the question "What volunteer organisation do you belong to?" is "Ecological organisations" with 39% of the respondents choosing this option. "Helping in an emergency" comes second, chosen by 28% of the participants. This is followed by the responses "Animal shelters" (18%), "Support senior citizens" (10%), and "Helping the homeless" (5%). It is worth mentioning that the figure for the option "Ecological organisations" is more than twice higher than that for the response "Animal shelter". This can be explained by the fact that ecological problems directly affect people's health, whereas helping animals may seem less urgent for many young people. Unfortunately, some problems can arise with joining a volunteer organisation, for example, the lack of time often makes it rather difficult for teenagers to join volunteer organisations due to studying at school or college. To solve this problem it is necessary to look out for various options for volunteering and choose the ones which will match one's interests so it does not become too boring or uninspiring. In conclusion, I believe volunteering is a good way for teenagers to figure out their life goals and what profession they would like to choose in the future. Moreover, altruistic help to others fosters a sense of belonging to the community and develops essential social skills.
