Love, burn bright, and act! These three simple words are the motto of the NSMU Student Council, vividly capturing the very essence of extracurricular life at the medical university. For 10 years now, the NSMU Student Council has been drawing the most active students of our university into its activities, offering opportunities to grow not just within the academic framework. You’ll hear a lot more about the Student Council, but what exactly is it, what does it do, and how can it help? Let’s start from the beginning. The Student Council is a student self‑governance body that currently unites more than 30 student associations. The Council is led by the Chair and their team. Currently, the position of Chair is held by Anton Vasiliev, a 6th‑year student at the Faculty of Paediatrics. All student associations can be условно divided into four areas of activity: scientific, social, cultural and creative, and sports. Every student is welcome to become part of any association! ❗And, anticipating your question — you can even create your own association if none of the existing ones suit your interests. NSMU hosts a huge variety of events, campaigns, concerts, and forums, and the Council’s activists play a key role in organising them. Moreover, our activists take part in scientific and sports competitions, defending the honour of our university across the country! ❗Besides extracurricular activities, there’s another equally important part of the Council’s work: engaging with the student community. If you have an idea for an event or are facing an issue you can’t resolve on your own, you can turn to the Council for help. The Student Council gives every student the opportunity to realise their potential, meet like‑minded people and friends, gain valuable experience, and further develop the talents they already have!
