Health Education Strategy: Launch of a Pilot Project in Congo On July 15, a closed strategic roundtable discussion was held at the Globus office in Brazzaville, bringing together key health experts to develop a roadmap for improving health awareness and preventing epidemics. Key participants: Louis Marcos Hollade, National Coordinator for Epidemics (CNORE) and moderator of the Epidemic Security Unit. Jean-Baptiste Nganga, Secretary General of the Congolese Red Cross and first aid expert. Dr. Solomon Ekieké, member of the Russian University Alumni League, coordinator of general strategic issues. As well as representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Senate of the Republic of Congo. The intensive two-hour session focused on two areas, adapted to the realities of the Congo: 1. Epidemiological Security and Awareness: combating disinformation and establishing an early warning system in villages, taking into account multiple languages (Lingala, Kituba, Lari, and French) and low literacy. 2. First Aid: transforming schools into safety centers. A discussion of basic skills for teachers (stopping bleeding, treating snake bites, and heatstroke) and the regularity of training in remote areas was held. "A teacher or village headman is often 50-100 km away from a doctor. They should be the first point of contact and provide assistance before the medics arrive. Only doctors should make diagnoses and declare an epidemic. This will avoid panic and rumors," notes Dr. Solomon Ekieke. Following the meeting, a six-month action plan was agreed upon, including: - Launching a pilot project to train first aid teachers. - Creation of localized leaflets and posters, taking into account cultural specificities. - Consolidation of topics into a unified concept of "Health Education." - Development of a regulatory framework for the implementation of courses in the teacher training system.
