GlobUs activists took part in Congo's Independence Day celebrations. A grand parade was held in Brazzaville to celebrate the country's main holiday, Independence Day. Sixty-six years ago, on August 15, 1960, the Republic of the Congo liberated itself from French colonial rule. The parade took place in front of the Palais des Congrès in Brazzaville. President Denis Sassou-Nguesso greeted the guests of honor: Burundi President and current African Union Chairman Evariste Ndayishimiye, as well as former Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou. Servicemen from all branches of the Republic of the Congo's armed forces, government officials, and representatives of civil society organizations marched in front of the head of state. The parade group of representatives from the international association GlobUs attracted particular attention from the Congolese. #GlobUs #Congo #IndependenceDay #Brazzaville #Africa
