"Ubuntu is the voice of Africa": GlobUs experts summarize the results of the World Summit in Addis Ababa Addis Ababa hosted the first World Society Summit. Over 2,000 participants from 50 countries gathered at the headquarters of the UN Economic Commission for Africa to discuss public diplomacy, sovereignty, and the continent's place in a multipolar world. GlobUs experts summarized the summit's results on the Global Insights program. Professor Gnaka Lagoke, an expert with the international association GlobUs, called the recognition of the philosophy of Ubuntu in the final documents a key achievement of the summit. "For me, this is a turning point. Ghana held two reparations conferences, but we failed to include Ubuntu in the final declarations. They did it in Addis Ababa. Ubuntu is becoming the philosophical foundation of Pan-Africanism in the 21st century," he stated. According to Lagoke, Ubuntu is not the only African value system, but it is the most well-known globally, and its recognition at this level helps position Africa as an independent voice in the global dialogue. Yanina Dubeykovskaya, head of the World Peoples' Assembly organizing committee in Africa, noted that the World Peoples' Assembly platform exists to unite voices from different countries around shared humanitarian values. "We have already held three regional summits—in India, Brazil, and Africa. Our goal is not politics, but people. Only through common projects can we translate values into real change," she explained. Mavoto Chipata, representative of the World Peoples' Assembly in Zambia, emphasized that the summit has given impetus to practical initiatives. An Assembly representative office has already been opened in Zambia, and projects are underway to study the Zambezi River, establish a public diplomacy university, and develop a network of youth leaders. Ethiopian representative Tariku Negash emphasized the importance of youth engagement: over 700 young Ethiopians were invited to the summit, as they value understanding how global events impact their lives. Experts agreed that the Addis Ababa summit is not a one-off event. The World Peoples' Assembly plans to hold annual summits in Africa and open representative offices in various countries. The next stage is the Second World Peoples' Assembly in Moscow in September 2026. Watch the broadcast recording: https://youtu.be/Cyw_QmW328Q?si=9oiSbUQ1r3dvtZwn #GlobUs #Africa #Ethiopia #Ubuntu
