GlobUs Trained Nursing Home Staff in Brazzaville on Cholera and Ebola Prevention On August 7, GlobUs, with the support of CNORE, held a training seminar on cholera and Ebola prevention for nursing home staff in Brazzaville. The event took place at the Cambyssi Center for the Elderly, which is under the patronage of the First Lady of the Republic of the Congo, Antoinette Sassou Nguesso. GlobUs expresses its gratitude to the First Lady for her active support of the institution, which made this event possible. Adviser to the President of the Republic of the Congo, Michel Mongo, delivered a welcoming address. He emphasized the importance of GlobUs's work in the country and noted the strategic significance of bilateral relations between the Republic of the Congo and Russia. GlobUs representative Maxim Abramovsky spoke about the organization's achievements over the past year: "Thanks to a comprehensive socioeconomic study, we identified the priority needs of the Congolese people." More than 300,000 residents of Brazzaville now have access to drinking water from wells drilled with the support of Russian partners. To address employment issues, we regularly offer free computer and language courses, and we also run a media school." CNORE staff conducted training on cholera and Ebola prevention and distributed educational materials developed jointly with the Congolese Ministry of Health. The center's administrative director, Clémence Makanga, thanked the organizers and noted that the staff had learned a great deal about procedures they hadn't previously followed. She promised to apply the acquired knowledge in practice to better care for the elderly residents. Finally, GlobUs presented the digital platform Avenir.cg, where users can complete community service tasks and earn points. Immediately after the presentation, eight nursing home staff registered on the platform. Clemence Makanga said they will definitely integrate this system into their work and will strive for active participation, calling it a new method of civic engagement, the success of which she believes in. #GlobUs #Congo #society
